“Reno,” You call as you walk into Tifa’s bar. You see Tifa in the backroom answering a phone call, and no one else. You frown and sit down at one of the stools. Tifa finally comes out and smiles at you.

    “Hi, how’s it going?” She asks and you smile back.

    “It’s been going pretty okay. Have you seen Reno? I need to tell him that Rude was looking for him.” You say, and Tifa holds a finger to her lip.

    “Well… I’ve heard… Ever since the Sephiroth remnant attack, Reno’s been going to the broken down church.” Tifa says and you remember hearing that from Elena. You stand up from the stool and walk toward the door.

    “Thanks, Tifa.” You say shortly and begin your walk toward the outskirts of the town. Children run by you and wave, and you wave back at them. You see a small brown-haired boy holding a batch of brightly colored flowers in a basket.

    “Would you like a flower? It’s only a gil.” The boy said as he held up one of the white flowers. You kneel down to the boy and smile.

    “Here, I’ll give you 1,000 gil for it.” You say as you pull out your moneybag. The boy stares at you with wide eyes as you place the money into his hand. You take the flower and walk off to the church.

    “Thank you!” You hear the boy cry out and you give him a small wave. He smiles and runs back to town. You place the flower behind your ear, and continue walking.

    “Reno?” You ask as you push open the doors to the church. The church, with the sunlight beaming in from the broken holes and flowers taking over the floor, was like a sanctuary to anyone. It was almost silent and rarely anything moved. “Reno?” You call again, and you notice something in the back of the church where there are more flowers.

    A kaleidoscope was standing in the middle of the flower patch.

    You quickly walk toward it to see Reno lying on the floor, and staring up at the sky with it. He pulls it away and sees you. With an easy-going smile, he says a quiet hi.

    “Where were you this whole time?” You ask as Reno sits up.

    “In the church. This kaleidoscope thing is pretty cool, yo.” Reno said as he pointed the kaleidoscope toward the sky and began to rotate it in his hands. He then looked into it, acting like he was lost in his own world.

    “Reno, Rude said---“ You start, but you realize Reno isn’t listening at all. You feel a touch of annoyance, while Reno just continues to look through the kaleidoscope. “Reno.” You say, and now you feel like you want to knock the kaleidoscope out of his hands. You shake the thought out of your head.

    “Wanna look?” Reno asks and he hands you the kaleidoscope. You take it, but don’t know what to do with it. “Look into it, and then point it toward the sky. You’ll see these cool glittery things, yo.” Reno said as he lay down into the flowers.

    You do as told to see small pieces of glitter rolling around. It begins to create small designs. You understand why Reno could get lost in his own world looking at this… It was rather intriguing. You hear Reno’s voice, but you try to shut it out of your mind. He shut you out, why don’t you do it back? It wouldn’t be that bad, would it?

    “……… Fine, yo.” You hear Reno say, and suddenly, the world goes black in the kaleidoscope. You pull your head back in surprise and try to see what was wrong with the kaleidoscope, when a hand grabs your chin and forces you to face Reno.

    “Ren—“ You start, but you freeze when his lips touch yours for a slight moment.

    “…… Did I get your attention?” Reno asks. You blush and look away to see Reno’s hand blocking off the end of the kaleidoscope. “Don’t ignore me now…” He says and gives you a light kiss on the lips.

    “But you ignored me,” You start.

    “You looked too pretty to look at with that flower in your hair, yo.” Reno said and you blush again. Reno chuckled and let go of you and the kaleidoscope, and fell back into the patch of flowers. “Don’t you want to lie down and take a break?” Reno asks and you lie down with him.

    “Did you mean what you said?” You ask. “About the flower and all.”

    “I meant every word, yo.” Reno says and he shuts his eyes.

    Cloud stood at the door of the church. The door was slightly ajar, and he was trying to look into the door with Denzel who was with him.

    “…… Cloud, when do we go in?” Denzel asked.

    “Now’s not a good time. I’m sure about that.” Cloud said as he shut the door and walked back to Tifa’s bar with Denzel trailing behind him.
