“You okay?” Sora asks you as you lie in your bed in your room.

    “No.” You mutter softly and pull open the curtains just a bit. It was pouring outside as though the clouds had flipped a bucket full of water to the ground. The sky was gray, the world was gray, it was impossible to see anything, and your head hurt like mad. Even Sora’s voice, which was he trying to keep as soft as possible, painfully stabbed your head. “Why’re you even here, Sora?” You ask.

    “Well, Mom said that I should keep an eye on you since your Mom’s out to go get some medicines. And the closest pharmacy is at least an hour away.” Sora said as he sat on your bed. “And you have a cold and a headache.”

    “Why didn’t Tidus or someone else come---“ You mutter. You didn’t want Sora to be here at a time like this. Not at a time when you’re so annoyed and angry.

    “Tidus would be too loud. Besides, he hates the rain. He hides in his room with Wakka on the days it rains.” Sora said and you close the curtains shut.

    The rain continues to pour.

    “What about Selphie or Kairi?” You ask after a minute of silence.

    “Selphie would do the strangest things to get you better, and Kairi is going with your Mom to get some ingredients so she can make soup for you.” Sora said and began to pet your head. You bury your face into your pillow.

    “How about Riku?”

    “Do you not want me here or something?” Sora asks and your heart skips a beat. “Riku’s doing the summer homework he missed ever since he disappeared last year.” You wonder about Sora’s homework and move your head so you could see Sora’s back.

    “So, where were you guys last year?” You ask and Sora turns to you.

    “…… Traveling.” Sora said simply and you sigh.

   “You were traveling for a year and you never sent us anything.” Now it was Sora’s turn to sigh.

   “Okay, sorry. I was out trying to save the worlds from darkness by using a weapon called the keyblade and I had to save Riku and Kairi from the darkness.” You want to laugh but your head hurts too much. All you feel now is Sora’s hand passing through your hair.

    More rain begins to pour down and it begins to sound like a drum roll. You sit up and try to cover your ears while you glare at the ceiling. Sora smiles at you and hugs you around your ears.

    The world is quieted down, but your heartbeats get louder.

    “Dude, I can hear your heartbeats.” Sora laughs and looks at you.




    “…… Oh, she’s asleep…” Sora muttered as he heard Kairi calling out at the door.
